Adam and Eve

Figures in LDS doctrine that represent not only primordial parents but a transition from an indefinitely, sustainable, deathless existence into our current mortal state and world. Significantly, in LDS teachings the Fall was a fortunate event, in that it made it possible for all God’s children to participate in mortal life and to be active agents in the salvation and exaltation of all humanity. In LDS metaphysics Adam also connotes plurality, which is to say Adam and Eve are also each of us and all of us, as well as our ancestors and our ancestry.
